Website Redesign & Speed Optimisation
Turn an outdated, slow or hard-to-use website into one that loads fast, works on every phone and brings in enquiries, while protecting the search rankings you already have.
When a website needs more than a new theme
Websites age quietly. The design looks dated, pages take seconds to load on a phone, forms break after a plugin update, and nobody on the team can change anything without help. Visitors rarely complain. They just leave.
A redesign fixes the causes, not only the look: page structure, speed, mobile layout, content and how enquiries are captured. Sometimes the honest answer is that targeted fixes are enough, and we will say so.
Signs your website is costing you business
- It takes more than a few seconds to load on a phone.
- Text is small, buttons are hard to tap or pages scroll sideways on mobile.
- The copyright year, news or team page is clearly out of date.
- Enquiries dropped, or nobody knows whether the forms still work.
- You cannot update a page without calling a developer.
- The site does not reflect what you sell today.
What a redesign covers
Speed and Core Web Vitals
Image compression, fewer heavy scripts and plugins, caching and modern hosting, measured before and after with Lighthouse.
Mobile-first layout
Readable text, tappable buttons and short forms on the screens most visitors use.
Structure and content
Pages reorganised around what buyers look for, with one clear next step on each.
SEO-safe migration
Every existing URL inventoried, valuable pages kept, 301 redirects mapped and the new sitemap checked before launch.
Forms, tracking and integrations
Working enquiry forms, analytics events and connections to your CRM, booking or email tools.
Fix, refresh or rebuild?
| Targeted fixes | Design refresh | Full redesign | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Best when | The site is mostly fine but slow or broken in places | Structure works but the look is dated | Structure, platform and content no longer fit |
| Typical work | Speed, mobile and form fixes | New design on the existing structure | New page plan, design, build and migration |
| SEO risk | Low | Low | Managed with a redirect plan |
How a redesign runs

Audit
Speed, mobile, accessibility basics, search visibility and which pages bring in enquiries.
-
2
Plan
What to keep, merge, rewrite or retire, with a URL and redirect map.
-
3
Design and build
New design approved first, then the build on fast, maintainable foundations.
-
4
Launch and measure
Redirects tested, sitemap submitted, and speed and enquiries compared with the old site.
What a website redesign costs
Redesigns are priced like new business websites: from $700, with a normally scoped site typically in the range of $700–$1,500. Large sites with many pages to migrate, ecommerce or custom features are quoted to scope. Targeted speed or mobile fixes can cost less than a redesign.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a website redesign cost?
DevGlim redesigns start from $700 and usually fall between $700–$1,500 for a normally scoped business site. Large migrations, ecommerce and custom features are quoted separately.
Will a redesign hurt my Google rankings?
It can if URLs change without redirects or valuable content is removed. We inventory every URL, map 301 redirects and keep the content that ranks, which keeps the risk low. Nobody can guarantee rankings, but a careful migration protects them.
Why is my website so slow?
The usual causes are large uncompressed images, too many plugins and scripts, no caching and slow hosting. We measure first, so the fix targets what is actually slowing your pages.
Can you redesign the site without changing platforms?
Often, yes. If your platform still fits, a refresh on the same platform is faster and cheaper. We recommend a rebuild only when the platform itself is the problem.
How long does a redesign take?
Most business-site redesigns take a few weeks. Sites with many pages to migrate take longer.
